Holistic Empowerment: A 5-Day Journey Towards Personal and Societal Transformation
From June 17th to 21st, 2024, the Conference of Religious Women India (CRWI) hosted a transformative leadership training program at the CHAI Training Centre, Secunderabad. The program, titled "Holistic Empowerment: A 5-Day Journey Towards Personal and Societal Transformation," aimed to equip religious women with the skills and insights needed to become effective leaders in their communities.
Facilitated by a dedicated team, including Fr. Kiran Kumar, Sr. Gladys, Bro. Abey Jose, and Sr. Renjitha CTC, the sessions seamlessly integrated spiritual, practical, and theoretical components. The program's structure promoted personal growth, self-confidence, and leadership development, all within a nurturing and eco-friendly environment.
Participants were welcomed warmly, and the inauguration ceremony featured the symbolic lighting of the Kuthuvilaku, signifying the presence of God. The sessions covered a range of topics, from the qualities of a good leader, inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus, to the importance of integrity, self-awareness, and resilience. Practical activities and group discussions fostered a sense of community and shared purpose, while interactive sessions highlighted the significance of teamwork, self-trust, and self-confidence. The program also delved into the art and skills of leadership, exploring various styles and methods to cultivate effective leadership qualities.
A notable aspect of the training was its emphasis on synodal leadership, intercultural communion, and eco-feminism. Participants learned about synodality, collaboration, and communal discernment principles, preparing them to foster a culture of care within their congregations.
The program concluded with participants presenting their action plans, ready to apply their new insights and skills in their respective communities.
